Our organically crafted spearmint essential oil is steam distilled from leaves of the spearmint plant, also known as common mint or garden mint, growing in India.

We love using this essential oil to help support a healthy digestive system, especially if one is feeling nauseous.

The rich green leaves of the Mentha spicata plant create a fresh, minty, slightly herbaceous essential oil.

Emotionally and energetically, spearmint essential oil refreshes and awakens. This essential oil can help stimulate mental clarity and support a positive outlook on life.

Outwardly, Spearmint oil is slightly yellowish or light green, flowing and very liquid.

The aroma of mint is very bright: fresh and invigorating, it is both sharp and thin, surprisingly rich in nuances, combining the cold notes of the mint smell with warm shades of camphor.

Spearmint and peppermint essential oils have similar characteristics, but peppermint essential oil has a spicier aroma.

Combination with other essential oils

Spearmint oil goes well with aromatic oils of bergamot, ginger, ylang-ylang, basil, lavender, geranium, jasmine, sweet orange, neroli, mandarin, naioli, nutmeg.

Contraindications

Spearmint oil is not one of the strongest allergens, but is used with caution.

This essential oil cannot be used in procedures for children under 6 years of age or for those who are undergoing a course of homeopathic procedures.

When applied, Spearmint essential oil even in diluted form for several minutes causes a feeling of cold and tingling sensation.

Despite the fact that Spearmint is a calming oil, it has a stimulating and tonic effect on the nervous system, therefore, oil should not be used for too long periods without breaks or in the evenings, it can cause insomnia.

Dosage

Spearmint aromatic oil is not among the most active and is usually used in standard dosages, but without increasing the recommended doses.

• If you use an aroma lamp, add no more than 5 drops of aroma oil to hot water, but for aroma medallions in most cases 1 is enough, in extreme cases - up to 3 drops of peppermint oil.

• To take a relaxing and calming aroma bath in the emulsifier, you can dilute no more than 7 drops of oil per procedure, and it is better to start with 3 drops at all.

• For compresses, rubbing, massage oil is used in an amount of about 6 drops with a solvent oil. To cosmetics add no more than 2 drops for every 5 grams of the main composition.

Domestic use

Spearmint essential oil can also be used to repel insects, including parasites, because most of them cannot tolerate the smell of this oil, as well as the aroma of green parts of this plant.

With the help of Spearmint or peppermint essential oil, you can get rid of ants and rodents in the garden: just spray it with essential oil where they bother you, for example, near bulbous plants in a flower garden or near anthills in a garden.

Important: essential oils are highly concentrated vegetable essences, so they require dilution with carrier vegetable oils.
