Our organic cardamom essential oil is steam distilled from seeds of the perennial cardamom plant, also known as the Queen of Spice, often cultivated beneath the shaded canopy of forests in rural Colombia.

We love using this essential oil in a diffuser blend to help lift the spirits during those seasonal times when one might be feeling a bit down due to weather and also needing to fortify the immune system.

The light green seeds of the Elettaria cardamomum plant create a warm, fresh, spicy essential oil.

Emotionally and energetically, this warming cardamom essential oil invites mental clarity and balance, especially during a situation where one might be worrying excessively.

Saturated, bright and seemingly radiant optimism, cardamom essential oil is one of the softest spiced oils.

Warm and surprisingly rich aroma of oil, preserving all the characteristic features of the beloved with many spices, has a strong antidepressant effect and is one of the recognized aphrodisiacs.

The aroma of cardamom, as beloved as a spice and seasoning, is fully preserved in essential oil. A sweet, complex, enchanting lollipop oil with a bright spicy base captivates with a gradually opening wood overtone and a powerful, persistent and characteristic base.

Combination with other oils

  • Bright and optimistic cardamom oil goes well with “strong” and persistent essential oils, which have an equally complex aroma.
  • It goes well with coriander, rosewood, geranium, wormwood, ferula, lippia, myrtle, pine, juniper, frankincense and lemon, which enhance its tonic and antiseptic characteristics.
  • Cardamom is combined with all types of base oils, but its properties are most pronounced in mixtures with olive oil and St. John's wort oil.

Methods of use and dosage

  • Like all spicy essential oils, cardamom is used in low dosages. But since this oil rarely causes negative reactions and is non-aggressive, it can be used in almost all aromatherapy methods.

For the most popular methods, cardamom essential oils are used in the following dosages:

  • no more than 2-3 drops for aroma lamps and other methods of air aromatization;
  • from 5 to 10 drops for aromatherapy baths, but with a limitation of the maximum duration of the procedure to 15 minutes (it is impossible to rinse after the bath);
  • 5 drops per 10 g of base oil for aroma massage, the mixture is used slightly warmed up and the exposure is continued only until completely absorbed into the skin;
  • no more than 1-2 drops for inhalation and compresses

Important: essential oils are highly concentrated vegetable essences, so they require dilution with carrier vegetable oils.
