Cosmetic uses

  • Citrus essential oils are widely used in aromatherapy, perfumery and cosmetics.
  • One of the most accessible, popular and effective citrus oils is lemon essential oil, the use of which in cosmetology is very wide.
  • Like all other essential oils, lemon oil has a pronounced bactericidal and antiseptic effect.
  • In cosmetology, lemon oil is used to care for the skin of the face, hair and nails.
  • Useful substances in the composition of the ether contribute to the natural lightening of the hair, giving it a charming shine, strengthening the roots, treatment of split ends.
  • It helps to fight with oily skin, dandruff, brittle hair and nails.
  • Like lemon juice, lemon essential oil has a whitening effect, so it can be used to combat freckles, pigment spots and vascular pattern (couperose).
  • Lemon essential oil is very effective to combat cellulite.
  • It can be used in combination with base oil for anti-cellulite massage and wraps, as well as added to anti-cellulite baths (remember that essential oils do not dissolve in water, therefore you need to mix lemon oil with an emulsifier — milk, cream, honey, sea salt or foam bath).
  • It is important to remember that concentrated lemon oil can cause a chemical burn of the skin, so it is not recommended to use it in its pure form.
  • Add a few drops of lemon oil in the finished cosmetics (creams, masks, balms) or in the base vegetable cosmetic oil.
  • You should also take into account that lemon oil has a photo-sensitizing effect, that is, increases the sensitivity of the skin to the action of ultraviolet rays. Therefore, within a couple of hours after external use, the oils are not advised to go out into the bright sun.
  • In natural and organic cosmetics, lemon oil plays several important roles at once.
  • First of all, of course, it is valued precisely for its cosmetic effect: toning, cleansing, softening, whitening, nourishing.
  • This oil is a natural preservative due to its bactericidal properties.
  • Lemon oil is a natural flavor that gives cosmetics a fresh citrus scent.
  • Lemon has the most bitter and astringent aroma of the entire group of citrus esters.
  • Since bright aromas are characteristic of all representatives of the citrus group, it is strongly recommended not to combine them.
  • In the perfume and ether compositions lemon notes - always the upper, quickly volatile tones.
  • All coniferous woody, as well as rich and easily recognizable aromas of Ylang-Ylang, Lavender and Palmarosa, have complementary aromas in relation to lemon.
  • This oil is actively used as a flavoring room for a quick refreshing effect, eliminating unpleasant odors.

Since lemon oil is very volatile, the bottle should be tightly closed, and when used, several standard dosages should be increased.

  • For electric aroma diffusers, instead of the standard 4-5 drops, 5 to 8 drops of this essential oil should be added.
  • For personalized aroma pendants, use 3 drops.
  • If you want to use it for inhalation, the duration of the procedure should not exceed 7 minutes (4 drops of oil will suffice for hot inhalation).
  • For aromatic baths, massage with essential oils, compresses and applications in the oral cavity, take from 4 to 7 drops of lemon per base agent.
  • To improve the performance of cosmetics, for every 5 grams of your finished composition, add 3 drops of this ester.

Important: essential oils are highly concentrated vegetable essences, so they require dilution with carrier vegetable oils.

Presentation: Amber glass bottles, self-adhesive dropper with internal cone.
